High pressure tonight into Presidents’ Day will afford us with a nice holiday, although clouds will thicken in the afternoon.

A storm will advance from the Plains to the Great Lakes Monday night drawing mild southerly breezes and moisture northward. Look for showers to arrive Monday evening and continue through early Tuesday, before a cold front blasts through with breezy conditions.

Behind this system, much colder air returns midweek, along with a few snow showers that could leave a minor coating early Wednesday. Dry and cold weather will linger into next weekend, and then we warm up again into the 40s.
