Apalya Technologies, a mobile TV services firm, has appointed Deepa Gupta Kulshrestha as Vice-President and Head of Sales. It has also appointed Bharat Prem as Vice-President, Global Sales, of the Hyderabad-based firm.
“Deepa will lead the business development efforts and set a strategic direction for sales, while Bharat will drive global sales of the myplex OTT platform in the telco, broadcast and pay TV sections of the media spectrum,” Vamshi Reddy, Chief Executive Officer, Apalya, said.
The OTT platform or Over-The-Top content (audio, video) delivery over the Internet medium, is gaining currency across the world. “Global online TV episodes and movie revenues for 138 countries is expected to touch $83 billion in 2022 as against $37 recorded billion in 2016,” he said.
The Global OTT TV and Video Forecasts report has pegged an addition of $9 billion in 2017 alone.
